Bryce DeForest: After 8 long years of applying I was able to pull a deer tag in one of the better units in Colorado.  I had very high hopes for the hunt but after a few days it was very apparent that the winter had taken its toll on the deer herd.  On the second to last day of the season I ran into this buck and made a 425 yard shot to end my quest for a Colorado muledeer. 2008.

I was fortunate to find this buck on a general hunt here in Idaho.  He’s a 27” wide 6X4 taken at 400 yards with my trusted 7mm. -- Bryce DeForest '08

After 9 years of applying I was finally able to pull an Arizona Elk tag.  Though not one of the primo tags the unit still held some good bulls.  On day 7 I was able to coax this bull to 20 yards where the Mathews produced once again.  We could tell early on that horn breakage was going to be a problem and unfortunately my bull had broke over 20” of bone. --Bryce DeForest '08.

Tom Barno shot this 8 point buck. The first photo is by his cuddeyback on 9-3-08, and the second was no doubtedly soon to follow. Had it mounted by Bill's Taxidermy of Atwater Ohio and got it back on 12-26-08. Tom writes, "I had passed up three doe's twice that evening, and saw the large doe running, and I got my binoculars out and saw the buck, looking towards me, about 100 yds away. About 10 minutes later, I was standing over it. It went about 70 yds." Cool series of photos!
