General

What more can be said about hunting Montana but GREAT!  It's a wonderful place to hunt and fish.  What Montana lacks in "trophy" (for some species) it makes up for with it's liberal seasons and great opportunities.  If your after a book ram, there simply is not a better place to make that happen than Montana.

Generally, as with most places, the farther from a road you can get the better your hunting experience will be.  I dont have any specifics to share, but if you would like to talk about hunting the big-sky state, shoot me an email!   Tony - www.tonybynum.com

404

I was fortunate enough to draw an antelope tag in 07' for unit 404 in Montana. I was able to stay in Great Falls and drive to my unit in the mornings without any problems. There are pleanty of places to eat and to stay. I drove into town and found the 1st motel on the east side and had no problem getting a room. Montana has a great system for private property hunting. All that you have to do is sign in at the red boxes and obey the rules of the ranch and it is open for you to hunt. I was able to take a nice buck 14 inches on the 1st day of my hunt. There were alot of animals running around. The terrain was mild with some sage, and fields of winter wheat and alfalfa. Overall it was a great hunt. You can see the picture of the buck that I took on the web site. Nathan- clarke_1111@hotmail.com

Montana was a great time for me and the guys i went with. In Broadus there is alot of private land where you have to be careful where you hunt. We went into the Powder River Taxidermy shop and they were very helpful, the map they sold to us worked out great. I cant wait to go back. It is easy hunting with wide open spaces. In some spots it is steep and nasty. Matt - matthewdegroot@comcast.net
